Dear CASINO,
My wife and I just returned home from our lovely five day stay at the CASINO. During our stay, we visited nearly all the hotels/casinos on The Strip and were completely in awe of their sheer massive size.
While waiting in line for a show, we tried to guess how many people could possibly be inside one casino at any given time. From that we started to try and imagine what one hotel, such as yours, has to go through to accommodate so many people. Our wandering thoughts, plus a little alcohol, led us to writing you this letter and asking you this question.
How many toilets do you have in your establishment? We tried to guess ourselves, and came up with a formula which is to simply double the number of rooms. We figured that there's at least one commode per room. Some rooms, suites and such, have two or possibly more. Then there're the restrooms off to the sides of the gaming and restaurant areas. Simply doubling the number of rooms should, we thought, cover the number of toilets both in the rooms and elsewhere.
We obviously went to Vegas because we're a gambling couple, so here's where you come into play. I bet my wife that the CASINO has somewhere around 10,000 toilets. My wife bet me that the number is easily around 25,000. Giving each of us a range of 5,000 toilets, who's right? Our simple bet has the winner buying the other an expensive dinner, and we'd like you to settle our wager.
Thank you so much for having us at the CASINO. The RESTARAUNT was fantastic, the service surprisingly prompt and professional, and surroundings comfortable and welcoming.
Sincerely,
Dr. John F. Reed
ps - after this last trip to Vegas, I have now finally sampled every buffet on The Strip and yours is, by far, the best.

Thank you for contacting The Mirage, Dr. Reed.
I asked our Engineering department regarding your question and here is what I was told.
At The Mirage there are:
3185 toilets in the hotel tower and Villa's/Lanai's
194 bidets in the tower and Villa's/Lanai's
280 toilets in the casino and convention and all public areas
These numbers do not include the back-of-house restrooms. I hope this settles your bet! I appreciate the opportunity to assist you and hope to welcome back you to The Mirage soon.
Best Regards,
Lisa Curtis

Dear Dr. Reed,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. Your email
brought a smile to my face today. I really enjoyed reading your email
and sharing it with our Director of Property Operations, as I wanted
to insure I gave you an accurate count of toilets. As it turns out,
it looks like your wife will be buying YOU that dinner. You both
were a bit high. My co-worker and I did some math and found that
the number is 2,366.
I am glad that you and your wife had a great experience and hope
you will stay with us again. I look forward to hearing more trivia
questions from you after your next visit.
Best Wishes,
Lezlie Young

Dear Mr. Reed:
Toilet numbers are not something that we have right at our finger
tips. However, I spoke with our Director of Property Operations and
he feels that the number is close to 3750, we have 2814 guest rooms.
His staff is going to look in a couple of places to see if they can
locate a total for you. If they find one I will pass that final number
along to you.
Sincerely,
Chris Snow

Dear Dr. & Mrs. Reed:
Thank you for your interesting email! I appreciate you making my
day with this one! Well, I have good news and bad news. The good
news is that I have a toilet count for you. The bad news is that
the toilet count is 3,210, which doesn’t qualify either of
you for your expensive dinner (since there was a range of 5000 toilets).
I still think that you deserve to have a nice dinner anyway!
It was nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay and our services.
Thank you for sharing your experience and story with us. We hope
to welcome you back again soon!
Sincerely,

Dr. Reed,
Thank-you for your kind e-mail about you experience with us at
Caesars Palace. To answer your questions we have approximately 3,500
toilets in our facility. This includes all the front and back of
house facilities. Of course with the addition of our new tower that
number will increase.
I hope this helps and we look forward to serving you in the future
