YAEL'S BOOK OPENING SWORD

It begins with Lisa and I moving to New Zealand. And, while we're busy, you know, living there, I come to wonder what the original Zealand is. We're in New Zealand, so where's Old Zealand. So, in an attempt to learn the truth about our new found heritage, we go to the local highschool and enroll.

We go to out classes on our first day, we get out books and out homework assignments, and go home. After a nice dinner, we start doing our work for school. But we can't. For whatever reason, books in New Zealand open differently than books in the Unites States. They look exactly the same, but they just won't open. It's absolutely beyond us.

So, instead of doing things the simple way, like asking out teacher, we call up all our friends.

Adina comes over, yes - to New Zealand, and brings her bird Doodle. She tells him to attack the books, and he does, but to no avail. Dave brings a big, long, clear poster-tube, filled with comics, and beats the books - but can't open them. Kenn tries weird kung-fu fighting manuevers, Jessica actually sits down and tries to reason with the books, Uri hacks away at them with ice-skates (don't ask), and Idan not only drives over them, but shoots them, point blank, leaving not a blemish.

However, we're not out of friends yet. Yael comes over, fresh out of Spain, with a sword she bought in Toledo. She walks up to the books, picks one up, and then runs the ultra-fine edge of her sword's blade along the length of the exposed edge of the pages.

And the blade slides right in, and she opens the book. We're all amazed. We take turns using the sword, opening the books.

We close the books again, and are amazed yet again at their incredible locking mechanism, openable only by sword.

And that, as they say, is that. My dream leaves off with every taking turns using Yael's sword to open books. The end.
